October 2021:  NAIROBI PLACEMAKING WEEK

A project by Nairobi metropolitan services to rehabilitate parts of the city (sustainable cities initiative), in collaboration with artists. Artists participated in the one-week event where group paintings were done in phases across the city. Notable speakers in the event were Balmoi Abe from Mambo Heritage, The Museums of Kenya and KECOBO(Kenya copyrights board). After the week-long event, the city had transformed both aesthetically and energetically. Works from that day can still be seen and appreciated today.

December 2021: OPEN STUDIO EHIBITION AT HIVE STUDIOS. Hive Studios, Karen Village, Kenya.

An open studio exhibition that saw a curation of over 200 works by various artists from the studio. The focus was on engaging with an enthusiastic audience during the Christmas holidays, which attracted a lot of attention.

January 2022: CVVC SANKORE PITCH COMPETITION. I-HUB Nairobi Kenya.

Thefirst start-up pitch competition of the year, organized by VC firm CVC, andSankore. Morianah Inc had passed the screening process and qualified toparticipate in the competition, as an art/NFT startup, with a mission ofpromoting African art and artists. After coming fourth, we joined the CVVCecosystem, and have been learning about the web3 and blockchain companies,startups and accelerator programs in Africa and from the rest of the world.

February 2022: POLITICAL CAMPAIGN LAUNCH FOR NJERI MAINA – Nairobi, Kenya.

We launched Wakili Njeri Maina’s political campaign where she went on to become the youngest elected women representative in the Kirinyaga region. Currently, she’s challenging the administration in parliament for better laws on inheritance, high cost of living for the youth and an increase in the educational kitty at the county level. We are proud of her work.

July 2022: ART STUDIO INTERVIEW WITH MAGGY VIBE, MAURINE CHUANI & BIANCA AKEYO – Hive Studios, Karen Village, Kenya.

The interview explored the artist community, a tour of the studio, a live painting session with the two artists and host, personal excerpts on the current state of the industry during the covid pandemic, how the pandemic affected how art was consumed and produced. The interview was to promote awareness on artists, the passion, craft, mediums of delivery and conceptual impacts of art in a post-pandemic society.

September2022: CRYPTO FEST 2022 – Cape Town, South Africa.

Under the theme ‘look up’. This fun event was host to just less than 1000 entrepreneurs, traders, investors, developers and pundits alike. Together they debated the vast opportunities that cryptocurrencies and their related innovations are creating in the African economy. Morianah Inc exhibited our first NFT collection,‘ Expressions of African Freedom’.

October 2022: 2000’S ART/FASHION PARTY/ FESTIVAL– Sagret Gardens, Kiambu, Kenya.

The theme of this event was catharsis. When one experiences a catharsis, its usually from the free expression of their selves, through forms of arts and music. The ambience was set for a public release where the participants would release their worries, stresses by finding comfort in the safety of friends and great vibes. The event hosted its fair share of exhibitors, most of whom were young adults with a zest for life, and passion for the times.

October2022: PARTICIPATION IN THE AFFORDABLE ART SHOW BY THE MUSEUMS OF KENYA – The Kenya National Museums.

Artists exhibited in this yearly event, that exposed their artwork to the collectors and art enthusiasts.

November2022: ATTENDED CVVC/ADANIAN LABS EVENT – Adanian Labs, Nairobi Kenya.

This was mainly a networking event where budding startups, their teams, key industry players, VC firms and Investors met to discuss the potential for blockchain technology in Kenya and the east Africa region.

March2023: AFRICA BLOCKCHAIN CONFERENCE BY BITCOIN EVENTS – The Galleria, Johannesburg, South Africa.

The theme for this event was ‘ready for business’ where Morianah Inc exhibited as a physical and digital asset marketplace for artists. There was also a prelaunch of the MVP and Nadra auction to the public. Generally, it was a good way for us to test the viability of our MVP, collect and receive feedback from the guests at the event, while gathering information provided by the speakers at the event. Most notable was the speech by Adanian labs CEO, John Kamaara, on the true state of blockchain business in the continent, with a huge focus on what can be done to transform it further.
